Welcome to the Exchange® Network … Your ATM Network
THE EXCHANGE® ATM network enables participating financial institutions to offer their cardholders convenient access to a very large, proprietary ATM network at an affordable cost. THE EXCHANGE® network offers the only inter-institutional, full-function ATM network in Canada.
The banks and credit unions on THE EXCHANGE® Network have agreed to never charge each other’s cardholders surcharge fees. For a full listing of ATM locations, please visit www.the-exchange.ca you can deposit in any Province, at any deposit-accepting ATM, regardless of where your account is held.
When you’re traveling within the USA, THE EXCHANGE® is still available to you. Just look for THE EXCHANGE® logo. The majority of Exchange ATMs in the USA are also surcharge free but you may find that some states will have a nominal charge.
New ATM Directory Reference Guide for Students
As members move away from home or pursue post-secondary education, questions will arise as to how to access their credit union accounts in their new communities. Awareness of accessibility to credit union services through credit union surcharge-free ATMs close to colleges and universities is increasingly important to communicate.
Credit Union Central of Canada has developed an ATM Directory Reference Guide for Students to assist them in locating a surcharge-free ATMs on or near college and university campuses across Canada. This guide lists each college and university alphabetically by province and identifies credit union ATM availability on campus and those located within a five kilometer radius. The ATM network service is also listed to help identify those ATMs that operate via the ACCULINK® network, THE EXCHANGE® network or both.
