Money Orders
A money order is a payment order for a pre-specified amount of money. Because it is required that the funds be prepaid for the amount shown on it, it is a more trusted method of payment than a personal cheque. Merchants welcome the extra security of a pre-paid money order instead of a personal cheque, which can bounce.
Your Credit Union’s money orders are available to a maximum of $5,000 in Canadian and US dollars.
Money orders can be used to make a payment to a third party. It is a convenient and secure means of payment, and may be easily cashed both here in Canada and overseas. They are more easily negotiated than postal money orders and are less vulnerable than cash to loss or theft.
Safety Deposit Box
A safety deposit box can protect important belongings against fire and theft such as your will, marriage license, personal papers, jewellery. It gives you peace of mind knowing your things are protected. Please note that safety deposit boxes are not available at all branch locations.
