Your Credit Union (YCU) RRSP/TFSA Contest Rules and Regulations

 

  1. Contest Overview

Your Credit Union (YCU) is offering a contest to residents of Ontario who have reached the age of majority. Participants have the chance to win contributions to their Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) or Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA).

 

  1. Prizes
  • Grand Prize: $2,000 contribution to the RRSP or TFSA of the winning YCU member.
  • Secondary Prize: $500 contribution to the RRSP or TFSA of the winning YCU member.

 

  1. Contest Duration
  • Regular Contest Period: February 1, 2026 – September 1, 2026
  • Early Bird Prize Period: February 1, 2026 – February 27, 2026

 

  1. Eligibility
  • Must be a resident of Ontario.
  • Must have reached the age of majority.
  • Must be an existing member of YCU or become a member during the contest.

 

  1. How to Enter

Each participant may earn one contest entry by meeting one of the following qualifying actions:

  1. Open a new RRSP or TFSA with YCU and set up a recurring monthly deposit of at least $25.
  2. Add a recurring monthly deposit of at least $25 to an existing RRSP or TFSA with YCU.
  3. Transfer an RRSP or TFSA from another financial institution to YCU and maintain a recurring monthly deposit of at least $25.

 

  1. General Conditions
  • One entry per eligible product will be awarded.
  • YCU reserves the right to verify eligibility and cancel entries that do not meet the contest requirements.
  • By entering the contest, participants agree to the use of their name and likeness for promotional purposes, where legally permitted.
  • YCU reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time without prior notice.

 

  1. Winner Selection
  • Winners will be selected at random from all qualifying entries received during the contest period.
  • Early bird prize winner will be selected from entries received during the early bird period only.
  • Winners will be notified by phone, email, or in writing within 14 days of the draw.

 

  1. Taxes and Reporting
  • Any contributions awarded through this contest are not considered taxable income to the participant.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring the proper reporting of contributions according to CRA regulations.

9.   General Terms

  • Prizes are not transferable, substitutable, or redeemable for cash.
  • YCU reserves the right to verify eligibility and disqualify any entrant who tampers with or abuses the entry process or violates these rules.
  • By entering, entrants consent to the use of their name and photograph for promotional purposes without additional compensation (unless prohibited by law).
  • YCU is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or technical failures that may affect entry.

10.  Privacy

Personal information collected in connection with the contest will be used solely for contest administration and in accordance with YCU’s Privacy Policy.
